Two of the four qualifying tournaments for the World Basketball Championship will be held in Belgrade from February 10 to 13, 2022, the Central Board of FIBA ​​decided today.

Along with Belgrade, the hosts of the remaining two qualifying tournaments will be the Japanese city of Osaka and the American capital Washington.

The draw for these tournaments is scheduled for Tuesday, November 23, at 11:30 in Geneva, when Marina Maljković’s team will find out the opponents.

16 national teams will participate in these four tournaments, four in each, and three national teams from each tournament will provide a visa for Australia.

Serbia, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Russia, Nigeria, Mali, Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United States, Australia, China, Japan and Korea will participate in the qualifications.

Australia, as the host of the World Cup, and the USA, as the current Olympic champion, have already secured a place at the World Cup, but they will play in the qualifications.

The World Cup in Australia will be held from September 22 to October 1, 2022.
