The Red Star basketball players lost tonight away from the Milan team with 68:74 (18:22, 14:23, 17:14, 19:15), in the game of the 23rd round of the Euroleague. The Red and Whites suffered their fourth defeat in a row. 13th overall, and are currently 13th in the Euroleague table, while the Italian team is in 17th position with a score of 8/15.
The most effective in the Zvezda team was Ben Bentil with 17 points, Luka Vildosa scored 11, while Filip Petrushev added nine points.
Billy Barron with 15 and Devon Hall with 14 points led Milan to victory, while Brandon Davis finished the game with ten points.
The red and whites started the game better than two days ago in Bologna, and led by a cheerful Bentila, they were four points behind after the first half (18:22). However, they had a bad start to the second quarter, so Milan reached their first double-digit lead (31:20) in the middle of that part of the game.
The home team controlled the game, after a three-pointer by Davis, they reached plus 16 (27:43), and went to the big break with 13 extra points on their account (32:45).
In the second half, Zvezda played much better in defense and managed to get to minus six at the beginning of the last quarter (53:59), and then to minus five after two three-pointers (60:65).
With Vildosa’s three-pointer and Petrushev’s points, the red and whites came within four points before the last two minutes of the match, but Milano managed to defend themselves and keep the lead until the end of the match.
Red Star basketball players will host Maccabia in the next round of the Euroleague, while Milan will host Fenerbahce.
