In Rijeka, Austria’s Davis Cup team will serve against Croatia on Saturday and Sunday. However, this is not the only reason why the focus is on the traditional competition.
David Haggerty, President of the World Tennis Federation (ITF), has been in Rijeka for days and also chatted with KURIER about the latest developments relating to the separation of Piqué’s Kosmos consortium. But Haggerty is exercising caution. “Unfortunately, I can’t talk about the reasons for contractual confidentiality obligations.”
The fact is, however, that the Davis Cup players did not receive any prize money in 2022, which according to Haggerty “will be paid out in mid-February”. And the fact is that not all agreements of the contract (investments of about three billion Diollar spread over 25 years) were kept by Kosmos.
