Caroline Garcia easily qualifies for the final of “her” tournament in Lyon

This Sunday, Caroline Garcia will compete at home. The Frenchwoman, who was born and raised in Lyon, defeated Colombian Camila Osorio without any fanfare (6-2.6-2). The fifth-ranked player in the world is now able to compete in the final of “her” tournament, for which she serves as an ambassador.

The Frenchwoman did not flinch when her opponent received a break point after promptly grabbing the lead in the first set and breaking again in the second. After only 1 hour and 11 minutes of play, Caroline Garcia successfully dispatched the 73rd-ranked player.

“I intend to finish strong”

“To be in this final and be able to share this delight with the Lyon people is a dream come true for me. After the meeting, she said, “I want to last until the end of the week. “It was a fantastic game against a young kid who has been confident all year. I was able to rise to the occasion this week and play well today,” the Frenchwoman continued.

This is Caroline Garcia’s first time making it to the WTA 250 final in Lyon at the age of 29, even though she has been in the best phase of her career since previous year. She will compete against American Alycia Parks, who is ranked 79 in the world, on Sunday. Three months after being crowned at the Masters, she would offer her 12th career title if she were to triumph.
