Ralph Rangnik and officially United coach until the end of the season
Manchester United football club appointed Ralph Rangnik as its temporary coach until the end of the season today. The 63-year-old German will sit on the United bench instead of Ole Gunnar Solscher, who was replaced on October 21 after the defeat by Watford.

Rangnik left the position of director for sports and development at Moscow’s Lokomotiv.

“I am excited to join United and I am focused on making this a successful season,” said Rangnik.

“The team is full of talent and has a great balance of youth and experience. All my efforts in the next six months will be to help these players fulfill their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team,” he pointed out.

At the end of this season, Rangnik will stay at Old Trafford for another two years as an advisor.

He could make his debut on December 2 in the game against Arsenal if he gets a work permit by then. Otherwise, the team will be led by Michael Carrick in that match as well.

Manchester United is currently eighth in the Premier League table with 12 points less than first-placed Chelsea.
