Danish football player Christian Eriksen, who did not play since a heart attack in June at the European Championship, has started training, his former Odense team announced today.

Eriksen (29) is still under contract with the Inter team from Milan until 2024, and he is currently training on the fields of the former team, for which he played from 2005 to 2008.

The midfielder has a built-in defibrillator, and the Italian health authorities forbid players to perform if they have such a device installed.

“Eriksen is using the rehabilitation field. He is not training with our team,” an Odense official told AFP.

Inter announced this summer that Eriksen will “follow the recovery program, which was prepared by specialists from Copenhagen”, without commenting on his future in the team.

The Danish football player suffered a heart attack in the first match of Group B at the European Championship against Finland, on June 12.
