Today, the Olympic Committee of Russia presented the equipment of its athletes for the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, which does not have the name of the state, flag and coat of arms due to the punishment related to the doping scandal.

Some of the athletes’ clothes will have the colors of the Russian flag.

In December 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne banned Russia from using its name and symbols in competitions, as a punishment because it did not submit accurate data from the Moscow laboratory where doping tests were performed.

That decision is in force until December 16, 2022.

The Russian team in Beijing will be called the Russian Olympic Team, as it was at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer.

The President of the Olympic Committee of Russia, Stanislav Pozdnjakov, said that Russian athletes would be “the most beautiful and most modern at the upcoming Games”.

Russian athletes are allowed to participate in the Olympic Games under a neutral flag as long as they are not involved in the doping scandal.
