Bundesliga: Schalke 04 scores a point against FC Augsburg in added time

Early summer weather in the Bundesliga, but the thick hoodie stays!

Schalke drew 1-1 in Augsburg, remaining undefeated in the second half of the season. For coach Reis, this means: The lucky charm sweater stays on. As long as Schalke doesn’t lose, he wants to wear the vanilla hoodie.

More red is not possible! Schalke star receives a nasty face kick

Reis: “I’m not usually that superstitious, but I’ve been told from several quarters to wear it as long as we score. So I hope for a long time. Even in warmer temperatures.”

This time the hoodie really brings good luck. It was 0:1 when the eight-minute added time began. Gouweleeuw comes too late against Terodde and hits the striker in the foot. Penalty! Bülter safely converts to a 1:1 equalization.

Point taken, series saved.

Boring first half, but then something finally happens:

53. Minute: After a very weak deduction from goalkeeper Fährmann, the ball comes to Maier, who shoots in flat. 1-0 for Augsburg.

But he was in danger just two minutes after the lead because Demirovic did a really bad thing.

55. Minute: Demirovic hits Krauss in the head with his leg stretched out. He apologizes immediately, but referee Schlager has no other choice: Demirovic has to go down.

Even outnumbered, there is initially little from Schalke. In the 71st minute, Terodde has a good chance of equalizing. But after Zalazar’s sharp cross, he twists free-standing in the six-yard space and shoots past the right. In the XXL stoppage time he then gets the penalty out…
