Year winner of the descent in Val d’Isere (VIDEO)
Italian skier Sofia Godja is the winner of today’s descent in Val d’Isere, thus taking the lead in the general classification of the World Cup.

Godja celebrated with the result of 1: 41.71 minutes and thus recorded the 11th victory in the downhill in his career.

The second place was won by the American Breeze Johnson with 0.27 seconds behind, while the third was the Austrian skier Miriam Puhner, who was 0.91 seconds behind the winner.

Godja now has 535 points in the general classification of the World Cup, ten more than the American Mikaela Shifrin, who skipped today’s race, but she should compete tomorrow when the super-giant slalom is on the program, also in Val d’Isere.

The third place in the overall ranking is taken by the Slovak Petra Vlhova with 340 points, while the third is Lara Gut Behrami (298), who missed today’s descent because she was positive for the corona virus after the first training session on Thursday.
