Kobayashi, the winner of the Four Jumps tour, surprised Huber in Bischofshofen

Japanese ski jumper Ryu Kobayashi is the winner of the 70th New Year’s tour “Four Jumpers”, after taking fifth place tonight at the last stop in Bischofshofen. The Japanese reached the second “Golden Eagle” in his career thanks to victories at the first three stops in Oberstdorf, Garmisch -Partenkirchen and Bischofshofen.

In the last competition of the tour, the victory was taken by the Austrian Daniel Huber and thus prevented Kobayashi from going down in history as the first jumper who managed to win all four ski jumps twice in his career.

Huber reached the victory with jumps of 136.5 and 137 meters, and a total of 286.8 points. Second place went to Halvor Granerund with 282.4 points and jumps of 136.5 and 136 meters, while third was Karl Geiger with jumps of 140.5 and 132 meters and 281.9 points.

The top 10 also included Juki Sato, Robert Jonason, Jan Herl, Marcus Eisenbihler, Lovro Kos and Marius Lindwick.

Ryo Kobayshi reached the first place in the general classification of the New Year’s tour, winning a total of 1162.3 points. The second is Norwegian Marius Lindwick with 1138.1 points, while the third place was taken by his compatriot Halvor Granerund with 1128.2 points.

The World Cup competition continues on Friday and Saturday in Titisee-Neustadt.
