Serbian handball players convincing against Ukraine at the beginning of the European Championship
The handball national team of Serbia started the European Championship with a victory, as tonight in Szeged it was better than the selection of Ukraine with 31:23 (17:11). The most deserving for the first points of Serbia in Group C was Lazar Kukić who scored seven goals, six of them in the first half, and the goalkeeper Milan Bomaštar stood out with nine defenses.

Bogdan Radivojević scored five goals, while Dragan Pešmalbek and Mladen Šotić finished the game with three goals each.

Dmitri Goriga was the best in the Ukrainian team with six goals.

Toni Djerona’s team had the advantage from the beginning of the match, so they were seven goals ahead at the halftime, led by Kukuć and Bomaštar. In the continuation, that advantage grew, and at one point it amounted to 12 goals.

Serbia will play its next match on Saturday against Croatia.

In the second match of Group C, Croatia and France will meet tonight.
