Cicipas and Auger.Aliassim in the third round of the Australian Open

The fourth tennis player in the world, Stefanos Cicipas, advanced to the third round of the Australian Open today, after he defeated the Argentine Sebastian Baes in Melbourne with 7: 6, 6: 7, 6: 3, 6: 4.

The match between the Greek tennis player and the 88th player in the world lasted three hours and 22 minutes.

There were no breaks until the ninth game of the first set, and then Baes took the lead 5: 4.

In the next game, Cicipas returns the break, and then wins the set in the tie-break with 7: 1.

Last year’s semifinalist of the Australian Open will play against Frenchman Benoit Perrault in the next round.

The ninth tennis player in the world, Felix Auger-Aliasim, also reached the third round of the tournament in Melbourne, beating the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovic Fokina with 7: 6, 6: 7, 7: 6, 7: 6.

All four sets went into the tie-break, the first went to the Canadian with a score of 7: 4, the second was won by the Spanish tennis player with the same score, while the next two were won by Auger-Aliasim with 7: 5 and 7: 4.

In the next phase, the Canadian tennis player will play against the British Daniel Evans, the 24th seed in the tournament.
