After 11 seasons at four different stations, Eliran Atar is close to completing closing the circle. The Betar Jerusalem player last season concluded tonight (Tuesday) at his youth club, Bnei Yehuda, after holding another meeting with the owner, Barak Abramov. Atar will sign a two-year contract with an option for another season and he is expected to earn $ 170,000 a season. Agreed at the last meeting between Abramov and Atar, and the exciting comeback will soon become official.
As you may recall, about two and a half weeks ago it was first reported in Sport1 that the Oranges submitted a very impressive offer to Atar relative to the National League and then progress was made between the parties when Atar’s agent, Avi Nemani, spoke with Abramov. In recent days, Atar has expressed a willingness to return to the Hatikva neighborhood, while his family also supported the move.
Atar left his youth team in 2010, then left in favor of the city rival, Maccabi Tel Aviv. Since then, he managed to play for French Reims and Maccabi Haifa, and then returned for another term in Kiryat Shalom. In the middle of the 2019/20 season, Atar moved to Betar Jerusalem, where he has played in the media for the past season and a half.
