Hockey players of Slovakia and Russia in the semifinals of the WOG

The hockey players of Slovakia advanced to the semifinals of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing today, as they beat the USA 3: 2 after a penalty. The USA team led almost half of the game, and Marek Hrivik equalized 43.7 seconds before the end of the regular season. Peter Ceglarik scored the winning goal.

This is the second time in a row that the USA selection, which played without NHL players, was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Games after a penalty. Previously, in 2018, the Czech Republic was better than the United States.

The Russian national team advanced to the semifinals with a 3: 1 victory against Denmark.

Goals for the Russian team were scored by Vadim Shipachev, Nikita Nesterov and Vyacheslav Voinov.

The only goal for Denmark was scored by Frans Nielsen.

Later, the remaining two quarterfinals, Finland-Switzerland and Sweden-Canada, remained on the program.
