Roma’s first smile, Empoli overwhelmed by a 7-0

Roma overwhelms Empoli 7-0 and finds their first success of the season after a draw and two consecutive defeats. At the Olimpico, on the Giallorossi’s evening of celebration, Dybala (a brace), Renato Sanches and the highly anticipated Lukaku scored for their first goals with the new shirt, then Cristante and Mancini in addition to Grassi’s own goal.

The Mourinho’s team thus rises to 4 points in the standingswhile Zanetti’s men remain stuck at the bottom without even a goal scored.

Just 30 seconds pass after the kick-off and the first episode of the match arrives: Kristensen breaks down the right and puts it in the centre, Walukiewicz intervenes with a wide arm and immediately gives the Giallorossi a penalty. Dybala goes from the spot and coolly scores the 1-0. The Romans continue to attack the match and in the 8th minute they put it even further downhill, finding the second goal with Renato Sanches who scores his first Roma goal with a header, again from a cross from Kristensen.

The Tuscans risked collapse already in the 19th minute on the post hit by Paredes directly from a corner, then with a burst of pride they tried to gain meters by finishing a couple of times close to the half hour mark, with Cambiaghi and Grassi missing the shot the mirror. In what seems like a positive moment for the Azzurri, Roma gets the hat trick even with a pinch of luck: on Cristante’s incursion rewarded by Lukaku, an attempted sweep by Bereszynski turns into a carom on Grassi who mocks his goalkeeper to the 3-0.

Strengthened by the triple advantage, Mourinho’s team seems to want to lower the pace at the start of the second half, but in the 55th minute Dybala’s light shines again at the Olimpico who, served by Cristante, sets Luperto down and with his left foot he scores 4-0 and a brace personal. The ‘joya’ is unleashed and a few minutes later also comes close to scoring a hat-trick by hitting the crossbar from a free kick, while Baldanzi hits a post on the other side.

In the final, Roma spread, finding three more goals scored by Cristante, Lukaku (who exploded the Olimpico with his first center in the Giallorossi) and captain Mancini, who increased the result to the final 7-0.
