It’s a snapshot from the Union-Training – and still a very special moment for the people of Köpenick!
On Monday, the Köpenickers published photos of the last unit on Berlin soil before Champions League clash at Real Madrid on Wednesday (6.45 p.m.). And the pictures show that the newcomer to the premier class has already gotten up close and personal with the elite league.
The Union professionals have the Champions League ball at their feet!
Every year UEFA designs a new ball that is only used in the Champions League. This year the ball is colored blue, red and silver. According to UEFA, the design is a homage to the official anthem of the premier class. Stylized letters should be visible on the stars of the ball, spelling out “The Champions”.

The Iron team used Monday’s training to familiarize themselves with the new playing equipment before they travel to Spain’s capital on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Union professionals will have another chance to get used to the scenery and get in the mood for the game in the converted Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as part of the final training session.
On Wednesday evening the new Champions League ball will roll for the first time in a premier class match for the Iron Men!
