We all know the situation of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and any kind of help, believe me, will mean a lot to them. On behalf of my club, I would like to thank Dinamo, which has done a lot for Shakhtar in this difficult situation, a lot for the children from our academy. I would like to thank the President of the Management Board Vlatka Peras and all those who were involved in this humanitarian action. Thank you very much and we will never forget this, he said Darijo Srna in thanks to Dinamo for the move he made for the Ukrainian kids.
Croatian champion, by invitation and request Darija Srne and former Dinamo player Dario Zahora, helped children from the football academy of Ukrainian Shakhtar. Together with the No Surrender Foundation, he reacted immediately and joined the organization of the transportation of children from war-torn areas. Two buses arrived at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border and then brought the children to Zagreb.
A total of 27 girls and boys and four staff members arrived on Monday evening. They are located in the club hotel “67” at the foot of the south stand of the Maksimir Stadium. The club and the foundation provided children with hotel accommodation, food and other necessities.
While in Zagreb, the children will visit the ZOO, and on Wednesday morning they will head towards Kaštela to the Maestral Kaštel Lukšić orphanage, where they will be accommodated until further notice.
– We sympathize with the children and their suffering and this is the least we can do to at least partially help them in this difficult situation. We call once again for peace and we hope that this state of war will end as soon as possible and that the children will happily and quickly return to their homes – said the President of GNK Dinamo and Manager of GNK Dinamo No Surrender Foundation, Vlatka Peras.
