Pochettino threatened with dismissal after failure
Paris Saint-Germain’s coach Mauricio Pochettino had a nightmare on Wednesday where he could see his team sniffed and smoked out of the Champions League. Now he is threatened with firing

The Champions League trophy is the only thing they think of in Paris Saint Germain.

The team’s Argentine coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has been brought to the French club to win the coveted Champions League trophy, but the Argentine cannot fulfill that promise just yet.

The trophy with the big ears haunts the club after they again smoked out of the tournament early this year. Wednesday night, the dream was extinguished as they lost 1-3 to Real Madrid in the round of 16.

Is Pochettino finished at PSG?
The French newspaper L’Equipe reprimands Pochettino, who believes that the Argentine ‘did nothing’ and just watched while his team was played off the field.

French sports journalist Julien Laurens is also disappointed with the French champions.

We have been here far too many times with PSG. This is a big failure.

Pochettino is not here next season. I do not think he will be here. He wants to be in England, he told BBC Live.

At a press conference after the match, the coach was clearly pressured and affected by the result. He addressed PSG’s dream of winning the Champions League.

– Paris Saint-Germain have been chasing the Champions League for a number of years now. I’m really disappointed and sad, but these things can happen. The next few weeks will not be easy.

He accuses the referee of misjudging the situation, which ended up getting the Spaniards back in the match and reducing to 1-1.

It’s very unfair. Benzema made a clear mistake on Donnarumma. I have seen the pictures 30-40 times from all sorts of different angles.

In these matches, it is the small details that change everything, and the referee did not see the mistake.

Pochettino was not the only one who was disappointed with tonight’s result. PSG owner, Nasser-Al Khelaifi, went berserk after the match, trying to find the referees’ locker room.

The owner from Qatar took over the club in 2011, and has since invested massive sums of money in the club because he wants to win the coveted tournament as soon as possible, but he can once again see his team deliver a disappointing result.

He has brought in big stars like Neymar and Messi who should lift the team to new heights and finally win the coveted tournament.

PSG otherwise went into the match with a good starting point. They had won the first match against Real Madrid 1-0, and the team was therefore in a favorable position before Wednesday’s meeting at the Bernabeu.

But Real Madrid’s experienced striker Karim Benzema delivered a power play in which he scored a hat-trick in 17 minutes, sending PSG into the dark.

The club must now wait until next season to break the curse in the tournament.
