When I’m hurt, you do not get me
It is a huge disappointment for AGF that they now have to fight for survival rather than medals for the rest of the spring

AGF must play for survival. It did not come as the big shock for David Nielsen on top of the uneven season the club has had.

It was not against Brøndby, but against Vejle and FC Nordsjælland earlier this spring, the Aarhusians definitely threw top-6.

The 1-1 showdown against Brøndby was a solid performance, where AGF did not make stupid mistakes, as we have seen earlier this spring.

– The atmosphere has been bad after we lost to FC Nordsjælland. Therefore we had to repair towards Brøndby. And I’m proud of what I saw from my players.

– It is a huge disappointment for us not to get in the top-6. When I look back on the season, we have seemed a little stressed in certain matches, admits David Nielsen, who now has to look forward to the relegation game.

– We must remove the fear of playing. The third and fourth place we come from, we founded in the relegation game, where we gave more players the chance. Now, for the rest of the spring, we need to create the foundation for playing the top-6 next season, he states.

– No one should tell me these are indifferent matches, we will play the rest of the spring. We have to get better on the ball, we have to prove that now on the pitch, he says.

Even though AGF has had a disappointing season, they can not lose in Brøndby.

David Nielsen could not remember when it last happened, but Ekstra Bladet helped him with that. The latest defeat is November 9, 2018, where Brøndby won 2-0.

– I always have a little driving with Brøndby’s fans. They always buh by me. But even when I’m most hurt, I can not lose here, says David Nielsen with a crooked smile.
