Slovenian Slokar wins slalom in Meribel

Slovenian skier Andreja Slokar is the winner of today’s slalom, which was run in Meribel, France, as part of the World Cup. Slokar reached the second victory of the season with a result of 1: 36.54 minutes, thanks to a great second run.

The second place was won by the German Lena Deere, who was slower by 0.48 seconds.

Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova climbed to the third step of the winner’s podium, securing a small Crystal Globe in slalom even earlier. Vlhova was 0.81 seconds behind the winner.

World Cup champion, American Mikaela Shifrin, finished today’s race in eighth place.

Shifrin is first in the general classification of the World Cup with 1,457 points, while Vlhova collected 1,249. In the slalom standings, Vlhova has 770 points, and Shifrin has 501.

On Sunday, the skiers in Meribel will ride the giant slalom.
