Viktor Axelsen wins All England
Viktor Axelsen comfortably won over Lakshya Sen in two sets and is thus the winner of All England for the second time in his career

On Sunday, Viktor Axelsen put a thick line under his current status as the world’s best badminton player, when the Dane won All England.

The triumph came in house after a showdown in two sets against Indian Lakshya Sen, who was beaten 21-10 and 21-15.

This is the second time that the 28-year-old fynbo has won the traditional badminton tournament. He took the prestigious title for the first time in 2020.

And it was an important one of its kind, he could tell TV 2 SPORT immediately after the triumph.

– I’m a little speechless. I’m really happy, tired and excited. I do not know at all what to say, it sounded from Axelsen before he dug a little deeper into the analysis.

– It’s one of the coolest matches I’ve ever played. It was a completely insane backdrop and it’s a pleasure, he concluded.

The world number one was a clear favorite for the match, and he lived up to that predicate to the fullest. The Olympic champion was in full control throughout the showdown, and this has been the case throughout most of the tournament.

Only in his first match against Sai Praneeth was it close in a set as the first act on that occasion was won 22-20.

It was not so nerve-wracking in the final, which is why Axelsen had eight match balls to decide the affair.

It succeeded on the fourth, and therefore the successful star can leave Birmingham without having given up sets a single time during the tournament.
