The women’s shooting team won gold at the European Championships

Today, the women’s shooting team of Serbia won a gold medal with a pistol at the European Championships in Hamar, Norway. The Serbian team consisted of Zorana Arunović, Jasmina Milovanović and Brankica Zarić, and in the final they beat Italy 17: 9. This is the fifth medal for Serbia in Hamar.

Throughout the qualifications, Serbia was at the top. In the first phase, she took second place, finished the second part of the qualifications in the same position and qualified for the gold match with Italy.

The Serbian team took the lead in the final with 8: 2, the Italians managed to reduce the gap to two points (6: 8, 7: 9, 9:11), but after that Serbia was more successful in three consecutive series and won with 17: 9.

“We managed to control the match. The young and promising Italian team proved its quality, because it managed to come back after our good start and reduce the gap. But we did our best to stop them and did not allow them to equalize. When it comes to my performance. “In other words, three medals in three disciplines is a great thing. When I have to single out one of those three medals, maybe it would be silver, because the duel for gold with Olena Kostevic was a great fight in which the nuances decided,” said Arunovic.

The men’s team pistol Damir Mikec, Dimitrije Grgić, Duško Petrov took the sixth position in the second phase of qualifications and did not make it to the medal duel.

Milutin Stefanović, Lazar Kovačević, and Milenko Sebić took seventh place in the men’s team competition with the Serbian rifle.
