The Rome marathon was won by an Ethiopian who set the new record

Ethiopian domination at Acea Run The Rome Marathon: victory at the finish line of the Imperial Fora went to Fikre Bekele Tefera with 2 hours 6 minutes and 48 seconds, a new competition record. Second came compatriot Tadesse Mamo Temechachu, third place for the Moroccan Othmane El Goumri.

About 11 thousand participants in the marathon, which crossed the main monumental sites of the historic center as usual. Also competing are athletes who have displayed the flag of Ukraine to ask for an end to the invasion by Russia.

The women’s competition of the Rome marathon also saw Ethiopian athletes prevail. First classified is Adugna Sechale Dalasa, with a time of 2:26:09, followed by the Kenyan athlete Kiptoo Gladys Jeruto, third the Ethiopian Nedi Tadelech Bekele.
