Kuman has been the new selector of the Dutch national team since 2023
Former Barcelona coach Ronald Kuman will take over the Dutch national football team on January 1, 2023, the Dutch Football Association announced today.

Kuman will replace Louis van Gaal on the bench, who will leave the national team after the World Cup in Qatar. Van Gaal is being treated for prostate cancer.

Kuman signed a three-year contract with the Alliance.

“I am looking forward to a new cooperation. A little over a year ago, I certainly did not leave the national team due to dissatisfaction. My stay was good then, the results were good and the relationship with the players was good. We will continue on that path soon,” said the 59-year-old. Dutch coach.

Van Gaal said that the decision on Kuman’s arrival was reasonable.

From 2018 to 2020, Kuman was the coach of the Netherlands. Barcelona fired him at the end of October due to poor results.

During his career, he also coached Vitesse, Ajax, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia, AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord, Southampton and Everton.
