Benzema gives a good debut to Real Madrid

A double by the French stands out against an Alavés who collapsed in the second half

MADRID, 14 Ago. ` –

Real Madrid debuted in LaLiga Santander 2021/22 with a victory (1.3) against Deportivo Alavés on the first day that took them to the Mendizorrotza Stadium, with a good punch in the second half led by Karim Benzema, author of a doublet.

Carlo Ancelotti started his second term on the capital’s bench with three points and a correct performance. Despite the fact that Alavés stood up, they also made mistakes in defense. Benzema, offensive reference of the previous campaigns and almost exclusively the last one, opened the can in partnership with a Hazard who left good feelings, Nacho did the second, the Frenchman sentenced and Vinicius took his sweetie in the discount.

At the end of last year and a great preseason, Alavés was confirmed as a tough rival for the Whites’ debut in the early stages. Thus until the break, the local team faced a Madrid that did not have many resources before the good disposition of the rival and also suffered a good chance of scoring.

Although the rhythm was high at the beginning, there were no clear goal options in 45 minutes, until an attempt by Pere Pons shortly before the break. It was a loose ball, almost hand in hand with Courtois, who, intimidated by the Belgian goalkeeper, sent the local player over the top. Madrid worked not to be overcome in pressure and intensity by Alavés and did not give them to attack.

Ancelotti pulled a trident with Hazard, Bale and Benzema that went from less to more and tried. The Belgian looked for the Frenchman, as he liked the last two years in the few times that they coincided, and both Karim and Bale tried to surprise from afar. Alavés was very uncomfortable with the forward pressure and the lines together, and with a Joseulu that caused problems every time he touched the ball.

That uneven rhythm was noticed, seven friendlies by the Basques by two of the Madrilenians, but Javi Calleja’s painting did not finish finding its way to goal. A shot from Benzema encouraged Madrid and a good center from Alaba left another good attempt by a Hazard who, after many injuries and little football, is confident that the third is his year.

Again the game was animated and Édgar caught a highway for the counter that could move the marker with Pere Pons. The Benzema lighthouse attracted a pair of dangerous crosses before the interval, but in those of Ancelotti many pieces remained to be activated. However, they did not need to get ahead, since three minutes after the restart came 0.1.

A bad clearance from the local defense turned into a lethal second play, with a center from Lucas Vázquez that Hazard accommodated with a tremendous kind of heel for Benzema’s shot to the net. The resistance of Alavés was clearly in a tailspin from there. Madrid also defended well, with his fashionable partner last year Nacho.Militao, and the Spanish also joined the attack.

Ancelotti requested it in the previous one, everyone arrived so as not to have problems with the goal, and the center.back came in to kill a Modric center in the 56th minute. Guidetti, just entered, was able to cut from the penalty spot, but from the possible 1 .2, went to 0.3, in a great Valverde career that ended with Benzema’s double.

The French striker, who scored thirty goals last season, resolved the always complicated debut, despite the fact that the white contender for the title suffered a 1.3 from Joselu. A bad assignment from Militao was fought by Guidetti forcing Courtois’ penalty. Neither cut nor the public again in Mendizorrotza were enough for Alavés to complicate the league start of Madrid, with the signing of Vinicius in the discount of head (1.4).
