Mille Miglia, fourth afternoon of the 335 kilometer race

It was the Time Control for the restart from Solomeo that inaugurated the twelfth sector of the race. Once it had passed the shore of Lake Trasimeno, the large snake traveled for another 40 kilometres, until it entered the Sienese territory with the stamp at Sinalunga, defined as the balcony over the Valdichiana, which seems to stretch out at the foot of the town to please the eyes of those passes you. Immersed in the splendid Crete Senesi, the crews carried out timed trials in San Gimignanello. Before the second Media Test of the day, the convoy then passed through the center of Asciano, in the heart of the ancient Etruscan centre. The views that followed one another in these lands were breathtaking, between immense expanses of green and golden hills kissed by the sun, cypresses and olive trees.

The inevitable stop from Piazza del Campo to Siena was, as always, highly appreciated both by the participants, who, while waiting for the CO, got out of their cars to immortalize themselves in the Piazza del Palio, and by the city, which cheered the crews in the streets of the center . After leaving Siena, the Chianti area continued to offer the competitors hilly landscapes, characteristic of this fourth stage as beautiful as it is challenging. Another 7 Time Trials were held in Poggio San Polo, after which Radda in Chianti welcomed the event for a Stamp Control.

The first and only Florentine competition activity was held in Val Pesa, the Testalepre Pass Media Test. A few kilometers further north the Traveling Museum has reached Prato, a medieval city, today a center of multiculturalism and home to an important textile district. The last Tuscan kilometers will revive the memory of the 1000 Miglia speed race on the Futa and Raticosa passes, emblematic scenarios of the exploits of past drivers.

The high Apennines of Bologna will host the last Time Trials of the day in Monghidoro, after which the convoy will reach San Lazzaro di Savena for the Time Control which will conclude this very long fourth stage. As happened in Turin on Tuesday, after the CO in the suburbs, the city will welcome the demonstration in the centre, in Piazza Luciano Bracci. The updated ranking for the 125 Time Trial still rewards Vesco and Salvinelli ahead of Fontanella and Covelli, who regain second place with their Lancia Lambda Casaro VII Series. Turelli third, Aliverti and Valente fourth.
