Austria-France: Kylian Mbappé went to hospital after breaking his nose

Kylian Mbappé broke his nose against Austria this Monday during the Blues’ first match of Euro 2024 in Germany. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker headed to the University Hospital of Düsseldorf following the match which he was unable to finish.

He will undergo examinations and have x-rays to determine whether or not he needs to have surgery.

Following a violent impact against the shoulder of the Austrian Kevin Danso, the Real Madrid player moved his nose, which was bleeding profusely. After remaining on the ground for a long time, Mbappé was replaced by Olivier Giroud, not without receiving a yellow card for returning to the field without authorization. After the game, he left the stadium wearing a face mask.

“The black point of this evening”

“We need to do a complete assessment to see if it is only the nasal septum that has been affected,” Fabrice Bryand, ex-doctor of the France team, told La Chaîne L’Équipe. If only the nasal septum is affected, it will have to be put back into place and it is a question of healing. (…) We could take the risk of making him play with protection. »

“Apparently, his nose is not good at all,” Didier Deschamps reacted to TF1. This is obviously the downside of this evening, even if it’s just a nose. »
