Sara Martínez wins the silver medal in T12 length

TOKYO, Aug 29

The Madrid athlete Sara Martínez has awarded the sixteenth medal to the Spanish delegation present at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo by winning silver in the long jump event in class T12 (visual impairment) this Sunday.

Martínez, current runner-up in Europe, arrived in the Japanese capital with the third best mark of the year, 5.49 meters, and her jump of 5.38 meters has earned her her first Paralympic medal in a test dominated by the Ukrainian Oksana Zubkovska, world record holder who took gold with 5.54. Sara Fernández was seventh with 4.85 meters.
