Liverpool is looking to intensify negotiations with its German coach, Jurgen Klopp, regarding extending his contract beyond 2024. According to the British news agency (BA Media) yesterday, the issue of renewing Klopp’s contract became urgent after the presence of Mike Gordon, head of the “Fenway Sports Group” that owns Liverpool. The match against Villarreal, Spain, on Wednesday evening, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the European Champions League.

Klopp’s agent, Mark Kosicki, was seated in the stadium’s booth, not far from Gordon.

Klopp coached Liverpool in October 2015 and led the team to the League Cup final and the European League final in his first season. Liverpool had renewed Klopp’s contract for four and a half years in 2019 and hoped to renew his contract for another four years.
