Skov Olsen helps to open gold match

Andreas Skov Olsen started on the bench, but ended up playing an important role when Club Brugge on Sunday won the top match against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the championship game of the Belgian football league.

The Dane was replaced with about 20 minutes left and ended up as an assist maker on both goals in the match, when Club Brugge won 2-0.

The result means that it is now right at the top of the table with just three games left. Both Club Brugge and Royale Union Saint-Gilloise have 43 points.

It is clear that it will be the two teams that will fight for the gold. Royal Antwerp and Anderlecht are thus ten points behind in third and fourth place.

Casper Nielsen played as usual the entire match for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, who are sensationally fighting for the gold after being promoted to the league this season.

Andreas Skov Olsen joined Club Brugge from Italian Bologna in January and has enjoyed great success in Belgium. He is now up to five goals and eight assists in 14 games for Club Brugge.

Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge, who are defending champions, will meet again on Wednesday in a match that will give the eventual winners good opportunities to end up with the gold medals.
