Partizan football players are the first finalists of the Serbian Cup

The Partizan football players advanced to the finals of the Serbian Cup today, as they beat Vojvodina 2: 1 at home.

The scorers for the black and whites were Ricardo Gomes in the fourth and Quincy Menig in the 43rd minute, while the only goal for the visiting team was scored by Dejan Zukić in the 52nd minute.

Partizan’s leading goal was preceded by an excellent breakthrough by Lazar Markovic, who assisted Gomez.

Gomez thus scored the 35th goal of the season and thus equaled the club record held by Mateja Kezman so far.

The home team continued with the attacks, in the eighth minute Menig assisted Markovic. The captain of Partizan came out alone in front of the goalkeeper Emil Rockov, but the keeper of the Vojvodina net was safe.

Several more opportunities for Partizan followed, and Bibars Natho had the most serious one in the 25th minute. A big mistake was made by Rackov, who passed the ball to the Israeli football player, but Natho shot next to the goal.

There was no change in the result until the 43rd minute, when a shot from the edge of the penalty area was sent to the opposite corner by Menig.

The Novi Sad team scored the only goal in the 52nd minute after the counter-attack. Veljko Simić assisted Zukić.

Until the end of the match, there was no change in the results, so the Partizan players became the first finalists of the Serbian Cup.

In the second semifinal, Red Star and Novi Pazar will meet later today.

The finals of the Serbian Cup will be played on May 26, and the venue will be known later.
