ASUS ‘new ROG FLOW X13 laptop is so small and lightweight that it lets you take your gaming experience anywhere with the XG Mobile eGPU (external graphics card) connection that turns this little computer into a monster to which you connect the GeForce RTX 3080 video card.

The FLOW X13 changes what we thought of gaming computers in terms of size and weight, it’s true that it takes some time to get used to remembering to take the external video card, but after a few days do not think about it too much, just connect and play. This change makes it possible to reduce the dimensions of the laptop without sacrificing power.

Power is exactly what this laptop lacks, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 internal video card with 4GB GDDR6 and a 13.4.inch screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and FHD resolution. This specification has already been enough for most heavy users, but gamers who want to take the performance to the edge will surely enjoy the RTX 3080 connection option, which while less external connection than the desktop version, still gives insane performance.

The X13 actually split the laptop into two parts: a small laptop and an optional graphics processing unit, when you want to take the computer to work you can leave the unit at home, and when you come back connect it and want to rave about cyberpunk, DOOM or whatever graphically demanding games come to mind.

In terms of beautiful device design, a matte black case with a slightly futuristic design that is very flattering to the device and gives it a luxurious look. The WXGA screen is very clear, in a size suitable for working and comfortable viewing. The laptop weighs only 1.3 kg and if that is not enough the screen turns 360 degrees so it can also be used as a tablet. These little things connect to a very big change for the gaming computer consumption experience.

Also in terms of connections you will not miss anything in the mobile, including USB.C, USB 3.2 and HDMI port. However, there is no support for the newer Thunderbolt 3 or 4 standards. There is also a headphone jack and the custom port to which the external graphics card docking station connects. The XG (external processing unit) is the size of a small book and includes the graphics card, input Power, DisplayPort and HDMI ports, Gigabit Ethernet and four additional USB 3.2 ports. It is important to emphasize that it can only be used when the power supply is connected, so it is more ideal for home use, but as mentioned it is not a problem to move around with the whole package as well. However, when there is no real need it is best to leave the outdoor unit in the house.

The physical use of the computer is also very convenient, the keyboard is lit by LED with dedicated buttons at the top that control various features such as sound or the activation of the ROG control software, the Armory Crate, which will put you in order of performance. The keyboard is also spacious enough so that it is very comfortable to type and of course to play.

The 13.4.inch screen is very bright, clear and sharp. It has a peak brightness resolution of just under 300 nits. This means that you will not be blinded by sunlight and in addition it has amazing colors and this is especially evident in action games like Doom or Assassins Creed, which see how real blood splashes or river flow look.

Also in terms of speakers, contrary to what is customary in laptops, there is a not bad volume at all with a lot of volume and even a drop of bass.

The RoG Flow X13 has managed to achieve its goal, which is to offer the user a high.end gaming option at home and still allow him a quality gaming experience as he sets off and leaves the outdoor processing unit at home. Add to that the usual features, powerful hardware and folding screen and you have a very diverse device that knows how to do a lot of things and provide several different user experiences. The price of the laptop, including the external graphics card, is NIS 15,490.
