The professional communication app Slack has unveiled its new ‘clips’ feature, a video format that users can share audio or video recordings with other people to reduce reliance on meetings working remotely.

Slack has presented the news that will arrive on its platform in the coming months in the framework of the Dreamforce event, aimed at promoting work in digital format, as reported by the application through a statement.

Among the novelties of Slack, the new ones stand out especially clips, a new video format, audio or screen recordings that users can send to other people by direct messages.

This function aims to reduce pressure on meeting schedulesso that co-workers can hear the message and respond at their own pace and also in the format they prefer.

Slack clips can play at a fast or slow speed, as well as see real-time transcripts or jump to parts of the clip based on the text. This feature started rolling out this Tuesday and It will reach all paying users in the fall.

Among the rest of the news that will arrive on the platform, Slack has also included Slack Connect, your alternative to email that seeks to reduce ‘phishing’ attacks, with which will allow contact not only between paid users, but also free, something that will arrive this fall.

Slack has also announced GovSlack, a version aimed especially at the public sector with a security-certified cloud environment, including FedRAMP High and DoD IL4 certifications. GovSlack will launch in 2022.
