Montalbano and other exclusive successes on Audible

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Andrea Camilleri, Audible announced an initiative aimed at celebrating the work of the Sicilian author, a prominent figure of contemporary Italian literature. The platform will make thirty audiobooks available exclusively, ranging from the investigations of Commissioner Montalbano to historical novels, from writings of civil commitment to works lesser known to the general public. At the same time, Audible will expand its catalog with over seventy titles from the Sellerio publishing house, with particular attention to the yellow genre. Among the new releases, the hunger of the swan “by Luca Mercadante, played by the voice of Michele Albani stands out. A special event at the Circolo dei readers of Turin, scheduled for March 19, will see author and narrator discussing the creative process that brings a novel from the page to audio.

The Audible initiative aims to offer the public an immersive listening experience, giving voice to iconic characters from the Italian and international literary panorama. Among others, Antonio Manzini’s novels dedicated to Rocco Schiavone, the stories of Marco Malvaldi’s glimmer, the investigations of the Morse and Spotorno of Colin Dexter and Santo Piazzese, and the works of Dolores Hitchens with Miss Rachel and his cat Samantha will be available. In addition, the public will have the opportunity to rediscover the “yellowist” side by Alessandro Barbero with his novels “Brick for Stone” and “Russian novel”. The first six audiobooks by Andrea Camilleri will be available starting from 8 May, in conjunction with the Turin International Book Fair.
