Of the Ring brand dashcam intended for car dashboards, already the subject of various rumors during the summer, there was no trace or even the new device for multimedia entertainment – which would have completed the recent announcement of the first Amazon branded TVs ( three families of devices from 43 to 75 inches currently distributed only in the United States) and the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max with support for WiFi 6 technology – it has been revealed. In the long.awaited virtual appointment with the international media that took place today, the menu served by the Seattle giant, however, gave many surprises alongside the products that we will soon see also in Italy (Echo Show 15, Eero Pro 6 and Blink Video Doorbell) some delicious news not addressed (for now) to the European market, from the smart band Halo View to the Ring Always Home flying security camera through Amazon Glow, a video calling device designed for grandparents and children.

The managers of Amazon Device & Services introduced them, not before remembering that there are millions of people who use Alexa’s services every day, emphasizing the nature of objects that “improve and make people’s lives easier” and contribute to creating an environment (home) that is increasingly intelligent and respectful of privacy, in which AI acts as a springboard to give life to an ecosystem linked to its devices and to make the user experience fluid and perfectly integrated.
The surprise is the robot
The most effective new entry was undoubtedly the Astro home robot, the subject of rumors for some time and today officially revealed. It is a “device” that moves autonomously on three wheels, about half a meter high, with a periscope arm and a camera that allows it to avoid obstacles. A sort of “robotic companion”, in short, obviously equipped with Alexa functionality and designed to be also empathetic through curious “facial expressions” shown on the display. Its task, thanks to artificial intelligence and a capacity of millions of calculations per second, is to map the home environment and perform specific tasks (search and transport small objects, check if someone has entered the house or keep an eye on pets, video communication with other people), responding to voice commands. Furthermore, the camera can be raised to have different points of view and analyze specific elements of the apartment, from the gas stove to the rooms, to check that the gas is left open or a light on, you can look out the window or search for a document on the table: Astro takes care of it, remotely controlled, able to move Astro is part of a program dedicated to financing the most innovative products and Amazon will offer it on the American market at a starting price of $ 999.99.
