Electronic Arts annuncia Star Wars Zero Company

On the occasion of the Star Wars Celebration Japan, Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: EA) presented Star Wars Zero Company, a new shift video game for single player, currently being developed at Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. The title proposes a narrative experience set in the final period of the clone wars. The players will take control of Hawks, a former officer of the Republic, driving an elite team made up of agents from different parts of the galaxy. The group, known as Zero Company, will be called to face a series of complex missions and to face an unpublished threat that could compromise the galactic balance. According to Greg Foertsch, CEO and creative director of Bit Reactor, the game is designed to combine the mechanics of shift tactical games with a narrative system located in the canonical universe of Star Wars, favoring the strategic choices of the player and the construction of a cinematographic narration.

Douglas Reilly, general manager and vice -president of Lucasfilm Games, confirmed that the project responds to a consolidated interest by the study for the tactical genre, with the aim of creating a title that reflects the distinctive features of the saga. Star Wars Zero Company includes an articulated campaign, characterized by tactical operations and investigation missions distributed in different galactic settings. The player can develop an operational base and access a network of informants useful to obtain strategic advantages during the plot. Personalization represents one of the central elements of the game. The character of Hawks, as well as every member of the team, can be configured in terms of appearance, skills, equipment and class. The selectable units range from clones soldier to astromechanical droids, up to Jedi, each belonging to different original species of the Star Wars universe. During the missions, the links between the members of the Zero Company will influence the dynamics of the fight, allowing to unlock synergies useful to overturn the outcome of the clashes. The game system, based on the variety of choices and on the strategic construction of the team, aims to offer a structured tactical experience, in which preparation and planning are decisive elements for success. The title is currently in development and further details relating to the release date and the reference platforms will be communicated later.
