Meta wants its ‘chatbot’ to proactively speak to users in WhatsApp and Instagram

Goal is working on customizable ‘chatbots’ with the ability to write users proactively and on information related to previous searches, as a follow -up.

The technology company is testing a type of ‘chatbot’ monitoring that will send a message to users about a conversation that they have previously maintained, although it may do so without being invoked at that time and in finishing applications such as WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.

These are monitoring messages that the ‘chatbot’ will be able to send in the 14 days after a conversation, as a goal has explained to TechCrunch. This proactive communication requires that users have written at least five messages to the ‘chatbot’ at that time and will be canceled if the ‘chatbot’ does not receive an answer.

This confirmation comes after Business Insider reported the works that Meta is doing with Alignerr to develop customizable ‘chatbots’ with the ability to contact users without being invoked and about previous conversations, as could check in filtered documents.

An example of this is a ‘chatbot’ identified as ‘The master of magic of cinema’, who could go to the user as follows: “I hope you have a harmonious day! I wanted to know if you have discovered a recently favorite soundtrack or composer. Or maybe you would like to have some recommendations for your next movie night? Avise me and I will gladly help you!”
