NetApp accelerates its role in the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, with the goal of moving from a classic storage provider to a “key driver” of success in the era of smart dataand highlights Spain’s “good positioning” to attract AI projects.
“With one of the best telecommunications infrastructures in Europe and our power in renewables, Spain is very well positioned to attract AI projects in key areas and sectors such as sustainability or smart cities“explained Maite Ramos, general director of NetApp for Spain and Portugal, in a meeting with the specialized press, which also served to review some of the announcements made by the company during its annual conference. NetApp innovations include: AFX disaggregated all-flash storage systemsand the NetApp AI Data Engine (AIDE) developed together with NVIDIA. The latter connects the entire data estate in hybrid and multi-cloud environments into a unified database, reducing multiple preparation and management steps. Together, both innovations unify high-performance storage and intelligent data services into a “single, secure and scalable” proposition to accelerate enterprise AI.
Many organizations are trying to ride the wave of Artificial Intelligence without having an adequate infrastructure to ensure the availability and necessary management of your data. This lack of preparation is at the basis of the worrying forecasts regarding the high percentage of AI projects that will not pass the testing phase concept or will not generate a measurable impact on the income statements in the coming years, warns the company, which trusts in its experience to change this trend.
“The unified offering to accelerate AI that we just launched is the result of more than 30 years of innovation and is rests on three pillars: the NetApp ONTAP unified storage operating system, our hybrid and multicloud data fabric concept, and the creation by NetApp of an Intelligent Data Infrastructure based on automation, optimization and security,” adds Jaime Balañá, technical director of NetApp for Latin America.
Another new feature from the company is the renewal of its NetApp Ransomware Resilience service, with which NetApp becomes the first provider to integrate the detection of data breaches directly in enterprise storage.
