PlayStation presented a new screen: This practical addition will surprise all gamers

The monitor is signed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and the PlayStation blog states that it was designed as a partner to the PS5: 27″ QHD (2560×1440) IPS, HDR with Auto HDR Tone Mapping when first connected to the PS5/PS5 Pro and VRR for a smooth display. It works up to 120 Hz on the console, and up to 240 Hz on compatible PC/Mac configurations.

A special feature is the Charging Hook – an integrated “hanger” on which you can place the DualSense or DualSense Edge controller and charge it while you are not playing. The idea is to wrap the entire PS5 “desktop” without cables on the table, and Sony is simultaneously pushing the new Pulse Elevate desktop audio equipment for voice chat and better sound with the monitor, as well as all the necessary ports for connections.

So far, Sony has confirmed the US and Japan in 2026 and says “more details coming soon”. There are no dates or prices for Europe/Croatia yet. With a focus on 1440p/120 Hz for PS5 and 240 Hz for PC, the goal is tabletop gaming without cables and without external “base stations”, all in the highest quality and in just one PS5-friendly box.

So, if you play PS5 on the table or want to transfer part of the library from the TV, the new PlayStation monitor targets exactly that niche. 1440p is the “sweetspot” for PS5/PS5 Pro and competitive PC, and additions like Charging Hook and Link-friendly USB show that Sony canа its own little “PS5 desktop ecosystem”.
