Lithium protects against Alzheimer’s disease – Could act as a medicine

In our brains contains small amounts of lithium naturally. Now researchers have found that it seems to protect us from Alzheimer’s disease. Lithium supplements may also help fight the memory disease that afflicts many elderly people.

Lithium metal was once believed to improve mood, and was even added to 7 up lemonade in the US. This was already banned in the 1950s, but since then lithium has been used bipolar disorder in trust.
