Driving and flying: The first vehicle of the Israeli company AIR is an electric aircraft

The Israeli company AIR has unveiled its debut vehicle – AIR ONE – and announces that it has begun pre-registering to purchase the two-seater model. AIR ONE is an electric aircraft with the ability to take off and land vertically (eVTOL).

While the eVTOL industry is gaining momentum with a strong focus on air taxis and other commercial uses, AIR offers a unique solution that gives the user the freedom to fly on their own with AIR ONE, designed for leisure, sports and daily flights. “We must expand the world of transportation to the air as well, but to get there, we need to build consumer confidence in eVTOL technology as the legitimate use of everyday transportation, and develop mass-scale aerial vehicles – this is the vision,” said Rani Plaut, CEO And a founding partner in the company.

The company’s first model is an electric and sporty two-seater vehicle, offering a range of 160 kilometers on a single charge, a maximum speed of 250 km / h and a flight time of about an hour. At the heart of the flight control system is the company’s Fly by Intent software. So the use is not limited to highly skilled and professional pilots.Additional safety features include an artificial intelligence-based monitoring system, which will perform comprehensive vehicle inspections and replace complicated maintenance and operation operations, to ensure maximum safety even for less skilled buyers.

AIR ONE is based on manufacturing technologies and techniques from the automotive and aviation industries, and is basically designed to be a fun, safe and everyday vehicle that meets all aviation standards. AIR has been working with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for two years, and is expected to sign a G1 certification with it soon as part of the aircraft’s standardization process.
