LG introduces the NFT Art Lab platform to enable the purchase and sale of digital artwork from its televisions

With the introduction of LG Art Lab, a platform for buying and trading non-fungible tokens (often referred to as NFTs), LG Electronics now offers access to these digital assets through their televisions.

NFT functions have now been incorporated into TVs running webOS 5.0 or later by the business, which first revealed its plans to do so in March.

The TV home screen, which also has the LG Art Lab Drops feature, may be used to access this option, which is only presently accessible in the United States.

According to a statement released by LG, this feature of the NFT platform gives a profile of the artists and producers behind these assets and gives a sneak peek at the collections that are on their way to the platform.

Similar to this, LG Art Lab has a feature called Live Drops that allows viewers of these “smart tvs” to see those just released NFTs in real time.

The Hedera network, which is positioned as a public ledger company for the decentralized economy, serves as the foundation for LG’s new service.

The Heiress network, which offers “ultra-fast transaction rates and extraordinarily low bandwidth consumption,” does not need the blockchain to operate, in contrast to networks employing the cryptocurrencies Ethereum or Solana, which are supported in many NFT marketplaces.

The software contains QR codes on the screen to enable users to carry out these transactions using Wallypto, the mobile cryptocurrency wallet. Once finished, customers must go to the “My collection” section to see the works they have just bought.

LG RENEWS ITS IN-THE-CLOUD “GAMING” SERVICES

The Korean business has also revealed that, in addition to this uniqueness, it will be enhancing the gaming experience on its most recent televisions by introducing new cloud gaming services and a redesigned user interface that makes it easier to access these games.

Blacknut and Utomik Cloud are two new monthly subscription services that will feature AAA-rated video games and be available on the brand’s televisions starting in September and November, respectively.

Blacknut, on the other hand, provides family plan members with access to more than 500 PC and console games with a range of premium content for up to five player profiles.

In the meanwhile, Utomik Cloud incorporates a hand-picked and expanding collection of more than 100 PC games from its catalog, which includes titles like Coffee Talk, My Time at Portia, and Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion.

As long as users have the webOS 6.0 and webOS 2022 upgrade, the first of these apps, Blacknut, will start to appear in the LG Apps Store this month on LG televisions.

Additionally, the manufacturer has stated that some Nvidia GeForce Now games are now playable from the game library and that LG TV will receive future upgrades that will allow users to access Google Stadia games and other features.
