TCL has presented this Thursday two new mobile devices, a basic ‘smartphone’ of the Alcatel family that will arrive in Spain in September, and a new model of its watch for children, Movetime Family Watch 2, with real.time location technology and video calls –

TCL Communication has presented its novelties this Thursday, which is part of the Mobile World Congress 2021 technology fair in Barcelona, ​​and which in the case of Alcatel translates into the new Alcatel 1 (2021).

This device is aimed at an audience that requests lower cost phones, since it has a price of 59 euros. But also first.time smartphone users or those who are not interested in terminals with new generation functions, according to TCL.

Alcatel 1 is equipped with a quad.core MediaTek MT6739 chipset, 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal capacity (expandable with a microSD card up to 32GB), and runs on Android 11 (Go Edition).

The 5.inch screen has an 18: 9 aspect ratio and offers FWVGA + resolution (480 x 960). The ‘Eye Comfort’ mode reduces the amount of blue light from the screen, helping to reduce eye strain.

It integrates a 2,000mAh battery, which offers up to 8 hours of use in 4G and up to 372 hours of standby time. The ‘Smart Manager’ option helps maintain smooth performance through intelligent application management, memory optimization and battery saving mode.

The company has designed this ‘smartphone’ with a curved frame to make the grip more comfortable and a polished texture on the back that provides a non.slip and anti.fingerprint surface, and a moving light effect.

It also has a 5.megapixel main camera and a 2.megapixel front camera, both capable of capturing 720.pixel video at 30 frames per second.

Alcatel 1 will be marketed in Spain in September 2021 in the colors Volcano Black and AI Aqua, starting at a price of 59 euros.


Another type of product that has been revealed is the TCL Movetime Family Watch 2, a wristwatch with a user interface designed for children, with customization options, and a 1.54.inch screen.

The watch uses real.time location technology, which shows the child’s location and keeps a history of the locations. It also offers a safe zone function (geofence), which allows parents to establish an area outside the home and in case the wearer of the watch leaves it, sends an alert to the smartphone.

Parents can communicate with their child through video calls, voice calls with 4G technology and text messages, as the watch has support for a nanoSIM card. The SOS button issues an emergency call to a preset contact with a single press.

This device completes its features with a 850mAh battery, which offers autonomy of up to 2 days on 4G and up to seven days on standby; and a configuration of 4GB of memory and 512MB of RAM. It integrates a 2 megapixel camera, which in addition to facilitating video calls, allows you to take photos and videos.

The watch will be available in Europe during August for a price of 149 euros.
