A 66 million year old perfectly preserved dinosaur embryo has been discovered in China

Scientists have announced the discovery of a perfectly preserved dinosaur embryo that was preparing to hatch from its egg, just like a chicken.

The embryo was discovered in Gansu in southern China and researchers estimate it to be at least 66 million years old. Scientists believe it is a toothless theropod dinosaur, or obirptorosaur, and was named Baby Yingliang.

Researcher Dr. Pion and Isum Ma said it was “the best dinosaur embryo ever found in history.”

The discovery also gave researchers a better understanding of the connection between dinosaurs and modern birds. The fossil shows that the fetus was in a curly position known as “thrush”, which is a behavior seen in birds shortly before they hatch.
