Microsoft launches the Walkie Talkie app for Teams and for iOS mobiles in a generalized way

Microsoft has announced the general availability of its Walkie Talkie app in Teams and for iOS mobiles Among the news that has been shared to facilitate communication in work teams, along with news in Viva Connections and Microsoft Cloud for Retail.

The tech company began development of the Walkie Talkie two years ago. It is a Teams function with which workers can communicate through their smart devices safely and without crosstalk.

Its purpose is to help reduce the number of electronic devices employees have to carry on, especially the first-line ones, in addition to reducing technology costs. The application works with WiFi or with mobile data, not by radio, which allows its use in any geographical location.

This Wednesday, the company announced the general availability of the Walkie Talkie app in Microsoft Teams, as well as the application for iOS devices, as stated on its news website. Within the partnership with Zebra Technologies, Microsoft has announced a wide variety of Zebra mobile devices incorporating a dedicated button to use Walkie Talkie.

Along with the news about this native Teams solution, Microsoft has also announced the update of Viva Connections in Teams and its integration with strategic partners such as Workday and Expressive.

It has also included virtual appointments with scheduled queues in Teams, has announced the generation of Microsoft Cloud for Retail starting February 1 and new shared device support that triggers an audio alert for missing devices.
