Chinese manufacturer BOE presents a prototype display with an “ultra-high resolution” of 16K

The Chinese panel manufacturer BOE has attended the SID Display Week 2023 fair, where it has shown a prototype of display with an “ultra-high resolution” of 16K.

The screen that BOE has brought to SID Display Week has a diagonal size of 110 inches and is manufactured with an LCD panel in which it uses its own cutting-edge technology of thin film transistor (TFT).

It offers a 60Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 400 nits, with a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. But what stands out in this panel is its resolution: 15,360 x 8,640 pixels.

It is a 16K resolution screen prototype, which offers “extremely high resolution”, according to the description captured by the specialized content creator Vincent Teohfrom HDTVTest, and shared on Twitter.

In a press release, BOE points out that it has “an ultra-high resolution, which improves image delicacy four times over the base of 8K”.
