NFTs come to the Twitter profile picture

Twitter advances in its integration of crypto technology with the possibility of using a file NFT as profile picture, a feature currently in testing for iOS available only within the Twitter Blue subscription.

The laboratories (Labs) are the way in which the company makes available to users of the blue subscription the new functions in which it is working for this payment service, which they can also try in advance.

The last function to be introduced allows customize the profile picture with an NFT file owned by the user, which will be displayed in the shape of a hexagon. This novelty means that the user can link his crypto wallet to his Twitter account.

The company indicates in labs page that this linkage means that current and historical crypto wallet transactions and holdings, including all other NFTs in that wallet, will be associated with the Twitter account, “because all this information is available on the public blockchain.”

The test feature for Twitter Blue is currently available only for users of the iOS app, although the hexagonal image with the NFT will be visible to all users.
