MADRID, 8 Jun. (Portaltic/EP) –

Sony has announced the new wireless headphones WF-1000XM4 compatible with Hi-Res Audio, integrating enhanced digital noise cancellation technology with the V1 processor and offering up to eight hours of battery life.

The new WF-1000XM4 headphones are a fully wireless model that feature noise cancellation technology, improved thanks to integrated processor V1, developed by Sony, which takes advantage of the noise-canceling performance of the QN1e chip.

The company also highlighted that improved noise cancellation performance and Bluetooth SoC (System on Chip) technology provide greater noise cancellation with lower energy consumption compared to the predecessor model.

The WF-1000XM4 have Dual high-performance noise-sensing microphones one for feedforward and one for feedback into each ear for high-precision noise cancellation.

They also integrate a 6 mm ‘driver’ which has been redesigned and a magnet 20 percent larger which, together with the high fidelity of the diaphragm, improves the performance of the headphones in the low frequencies and generates a high precision cancellation signal in a low frequency range that improves noise cancellation.

Los WF-1000XM4 support Hi-Res audio thanks to LDAC, Sony’s audio coding technology adopted by the industry. LDAC transmits approximately three times more data (at a maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps) than conventional Bluetooth audio, to offer content with high resolution audio, in a quality that is as close as possible to a cable connection, as they have pointed out from the company.

The integrated V1 processor also improves sound quality, reduces distortion, and enables LDAC and DSEE Extreme codec processing (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine), which enhances compressed digital music files in real time.

The tecnologĂa ‘Speak-to-Chat’ is available on the WF-1000XM4, and allows for short conversations without the user having to remove the ‘earbuds’. This technology automatically pauses music and lets in ambient sound when it detects that the user is talking to someone. When the conversation ends, playback resumes automatically.

The mode ‘Fast attention’, for its part, allows decrease volume instantly and let in the ambient sound by simply placing the finger on the left earbud, in case the user wants to say something brief or listen to a warning, for example.

These headphones also have the smart function ‘Adaptive Sound Control’, which analyzes where the user is and what they are doing to adjust the ambient sound. This technology can learn to recognize the most frequent places, such as the office, the gym or a cafeteria, and adapt the sound to each situation.

The headphones feature instant play and pause thanks to its proximity sensor that detects when you are wearing one or both ‘earbuds’, and hands-free with the technology ‘Precise Voice Pickup’ which, in combination with microphones and a bone conduction sensor, the WF-1000XM4 clearly and precisely pick up the voice to make calls.

The WF-1000XM4 headphones support the new Google Fast Pair functionality, which with one touch, allow quick Bluetooth pairing with Android devices. This quick pairing system also allows you to locate your headphones and tell you when you’ve run out of battery and how much charge you have left.

They also have Microsoft Swift Pair, which facilitates its connection with Windows 10 devices. And through the touch controls, you can activate the Noise Cancellation, Ambient Sound, Quick Attention modes or just skip, pause or play songs.

The 360 Reality Audio technology, which provides an immersive audio experience, has also been integrated into the WF-1000XM4 headphones in combination with an Android or iPhone ‘smartphone’ that has a compatible streaming service ‘app’ installed.

The headphones have been redesigned to be 10 percent smaller than the previous generation, without compromising on sound quality or autonomy. According to Sony, they are lightweight, and the charging case is 40 percent smaller.

As for the battery, they offer up to eight full hours of use and 16 hours more with the case. In total, 24 hours of charge. It also has a fast charging solution that with five minutes offers 60 minutes of playback. In addition, the WF-1000XM4 are compatible with wireless charging with Qi technology.

The pads are made of a polyurethane foam material that is soft and elastic, which maximizes the contact area between the head for the ‘earbud’ and the ear canal for improve fit and noise isolation.

The WF-1000XM4 headphones are water, splash and sweat resistant (IPX4), and will be available in black and silver, with a approximate price of 280 euros, as of June 2021. Included in the box are ear pads in three different sizes and a USB-C charging cable.
