MADRID, 7 Jul. (Portaltic/EP) –

The online video game platform Roblox has reached a strategic agreement with the record company Sony Music that will allow you to integrate your music in new ways in the video game universe.

As part of the agreement, announced Tuesday, Roblox and Sony Music will jointly develop “innovative musical experiences” for the community of players of Roblox, using artists from Sony’s music label.

Likewise, these experiences will provide new business opportunities for artists through income through virtual channels, as stated in the Roblox investor statement.

Previously, Sony and Roblox had already collaborated on two pilot experiences with the concerts of the American rapper Lil Nas X in November 2020 or the Swedish singer Zara Larsson in May of this year.

Roblox has ensured that “respects the rights of all creators “and for this it uses advanced technologies that detect the music that is uploaded to the video game, ceasing people who repeat infringements and responding to copyright complaints.

This novelty comes after last month the National Association of Music Publishers of America (NMPA) filed a complaint against Roblox, claiming $ 200 million in compensation for the music used illegally in the video game ‘streams’.
