New feature: YouTube announced this morning (Monday) the launch of the beta version of Shorts in Israel. This is a new video experience that allows you to create short and catchy videos using your mobile phone. Shorts was first announced in September 2020 and has since been launched in about 26 countries, with Israel now joining the list, which will stand at over one hundred countries. To date, the shorts player has garnered over 6.5 billion daily views.

In addition to the option of watching short videos that is already available, from today, users from Israel will be able to use the unique creative tools of Shorts, which include – a multi-segment camera that allows you to connect several videos; Possibility to select the music already when shooting; Control speed settings and more.

As mentioned, the new features also include the ability to sample audio not only from other Shorts videos, but also from all of YouTube videos, which include billions of videos from around the world. This way, YouTube users will be able to create their own creative interpretation of their favorite content on the platform, and reach new audiences. It is important to note that the creators of the original content will be able to revoke their consent if they do not want users to be able to “remix” videos they have uploaded.

Also, in parallel with the international expansion of the product, Shorts now includes a new set of features, including the option to add text to certain points in the video, add captions automatically and the recording option of up to 60 seconds. You can also upload videos from the gallery on your mobile phone with videos created using the shorts camera as well as add basic color correction filters. Additional effects will be revealed in the future.

The beta version of Shorts will be available to all users in Israel until Wednesday, July 14.
